Congenital means existing at the birth; Congenital Heart Disease in children is caused when a child is born with irregular heart structure or defects in the heart.
Congenital heart defects are the most common birth defects. Approximately 1 in 100 children are born with some form of CHD.
We honour our heart hero- Dr. Manish Porwal (Chief Cardiac Surgeon) and his team for giving a new lease of life to a child who was suffering from a congenital heart condition known as Ventricular Septal Defect (VSD), "A hole in the septum (the wall) between the lower chambers of the heart". It’s a common heart defect that separates the heart’s lower chambers and due to this blood passing from left to the right side of heart which makes heart to work harder.
The child has now been discharged in a stable condition.
